Crack the Case is a game in which the objective is to solve an imaginary crime by asking questions. The game has 108 cards with crime scenarios and a question needing to be solved that is related to that scenario. One player is the moderator and reads the scenario, while the remainder of the players ask questions to try to solve the question related to the crime. The moderator can only give standard answers, such as "Yes," "No," "I Don't Know," "Irrelevant," etc. Whoever solves the most cases in the quickest amount of time wins.

I took the test in July and I can tell you they have probably the most accurate simulation for the two common games. It has been updated on a new mini-game as well. I tried it, there's only one case but given the amazing level of detail they've got on this new simulation, it's probably just as accurate as their previous ones.

Art Heist is a fully facilitated virtual sleuthing game for team building. The event format is similar to a murder mystery, minus the murder. In this interactive tale, teams race to crack the case and figure out which fictional museum employee stole a priceless Van Gogh masterpiece. For 90 minutes, teams compete for clues in mini-games like spot the difference, jigsaw puzzles, riddles, and trivia. War of the Wizards is a fully-facilitated 90 minute virtual team building event. Teams roleplay as minions of powerful wizards to vanquish forces of evil. A host guides the groups through a series of puzzles and mini-games in a quest-style adventure. Players must overcome obstacles through the power of teamwork and imagination. War of the Wizards is a test of diplomacy and resourcefulness, not to mention a way to geek out with remote colleagues.

International Monster Hunter is a fully-facilitated virtual team building event. The games are led by a zoo-cryptologist. Teams must work together and solve puzzles to track down the location of mythical creatures from around the world. This event is a 90 minute group problem-solving exercise full of fun and fantasy.

Zombie Cannibal Asylum takes place during a zombie apocalypse. The setting for the game is a psychiatric assignment where a deranged doctor uses inmates as test subjects. The witnesses are both undead and unhinged, meaning the game is full of spooky and wacky fun. The standard game suits up to 32 players. You can also pla an expanded version with up to 100 people, which includes supplementary materials like audio files and decorating tips.

Plus, the challenges often necessitate teamwork, which makes them solid team bonding exercises, too. Real modern detectives often collaborate long distance, meaning there is no reason that you and the team cannot crack the case from behind a screen.

Virtual murder mystery games are role-playing detective stories played on platforms like Zoom and Skype. There are several options for these kinds of games, from books to downloaded scripts to fully hosted events.

Psychological pressure: while case interviews in the first round are usually more focused on having you simply crack the case, second round interviewers often use the "bad cop" strategy to test the way candidates react to challenges and uncertainty.

McKinsey Case Interviews Most consulting case interview questions test your ability to crack a broad problem, with a case prompt often going like: "How much would you pay for a banking licence in Ireland?". This error is so disappointing as it is so readily avoidable. Most candidates spend their time on case interview preparation and neglect their fit interviews.
